Situation;
Agonisticism is not to be mistaken with agnosticism. Agnosticism states we can’t know (gnosis) anything about the possibility of transcendental beings. Agonisticism doesn’t even rule out the possibility of gaining knowledge about transcendental beings. Whether they exist or not is of little interest to agonists. The agonist (actor) is you; if there is a God he is there because of you. You may be God, God may serve you, and God may be the ideal you strive to become.
Our view on the world is ruled by symbols and traditions. A religion is a tool, a way to associate the world we live in with the symbols we perceive. It can be our anchor when we lose the overview of what’s around us, and it can be our glasses trough which we see reality. A way to perceive the world around us. A religion is not a goal. When a religion becomes a goal, it surpasses it’s role and ends up in fundamentalism. As such, science may sometimes be regarded as a religion as well.
Agonisticism is compatible with most religions. And in fact it transcends religion.
Agonisticism doesn’t give meaning to your life. You give it meaning.
Agonisticism doesn’t propose laws or rules you must follow. You make the choice every time.
You must make your own rules, and break them as you see fit.
The principles;
All beings have free will, they have the ability to observe and to act on their environment.
There is always a choice. And the choice is yours.
Therefore you are responsible, responsible for yourself, responsible for your environment, responsible for those around you.
But even responsible for what has been and for what has to come.
Who is responsible? – You are.
Not responsible even though you weren’t there, … no, responsible BECAUSE you weren’t there.
Everything IS your fault, you did it, because you didn’t prevent it.
You are to blame for all the good things as well.
Take pride in your being.
Be aware of the power you have, even a butterfly can cause a hurricane. Affecting the live of thousands.
Nobody is perfect, but you can come close to what you see yourself as perfection.
If you can’t reach near to such perfection; adjust your perception.
We are all perfect, if not by ourselves, in our efforts towards others we are.
Good is how you see it. – Don’t be selfish. Be self-ish.
Past and present are linked, if we can alter the present, we can alter the past.
All is now. Nothing is. All evolves.
The consequences;
Agonisticism may sound to be very selfish. Well; it is.
You don’t have to feel sorry because of false humility.
Although it is noble to set other’s interests before your own, and an agonist may do that, all you serve is your own purpose.
An agonist doesn’t strive to become “better” than others. He strives to become a better self.
Being “better” than others wouldn’t be selfish enough.
Extremes meet, the self of the agonist compasses his world. If he serves himself, he serves his world. A world shared with others.
Everyone is an agonist. We all play our part.
We don’t fullfill a masterplan laid out for us.
We are the masterplan, we are reality, and we change.
We change trough ourselves, and we change trough others.
Our lives have a purpose; we are the purpose, our lives are the purpose.
Life encompasses death. Death fits in our purpose, it is part of our self.
When we perish, we nolonger have purpose, but we still are, we are now.
We can’t be erased from now.
Even though now may change, and become a different now, a now we have no part in.
We live in this now.
Every second is eternal. There is no need to a beyond life.
There is no need for a beyond time. What was there before time? There is no before time.
There is no after time.
Time itself changes.
We change time.
And trough time we change.
We change ourselves.
We act, … we are responsible.
Responsible for ourselves.
Responsible to ourselves.
No one else, no one else.
Yet all together.
